If you're travelling abroad and have any concerns about how you'll be covered under your health insurance plan, you should consider purchasing international travel coverage. We recommend checking with your health insurance carrier (or call us at 786-970-0740 (Cell)) to determine how you'll be covered under your primary plan. Generally, you'll find that your existing health insurance, if it covers international travel at all, will cover you only for emergencies or will provide coverage with relatively low lifetime limits and coinsurance

Blue Cross Blue Shield Global Solutions offers coverage for single trips and multi-trips and both plans can be accessed here.

When you go to the site, first check which type of coverage you want (single trip or multi-trip). Enter age, zip code, and add also add information for each additional person to be covered. Then click GET A QUOTE.

For single trip plans make a separate election for the maximum coverage (there are four options between $50,000 and $1,000,000) and the deductible (there are four options between $0 and $500) in the drop down boxes and check whether you want your pre-existing conditions covered. Maximum trip duration is 182 days (6 months). Check if you want pre-existing conditions covered. You must have primary health insurance to apply to have pre-existing coverage. Maximum age for a single trip plan is age 95.

For multiple trips choose one of the three medical coverage/deductible combinations. Note: any deductible for this plan is waived if using Blue Cross Blue Shiled contracted providers. All multiple trip plans cover pre-existing conditions and require that you have primary medical coverage.

All single and multi-trip plans include travel evacuation coverage and AD&D insurance, but there are differences between these coverages depending on the plan you select.

After you choose your maximum and deductible verify your maximum and deductible and make sure the traveler information is correct. Then click Buy Now. Enter all requested information, click Next as required and complete and submit your application.

Blue Cross Blue Shield Global Solutions also offers specialty plans for living/working abroad; maritime crew; expatriate missionary medical coverage; and student or faculty medical coverage.
